Saturday Flu Clinic - 16th November 2019

Flu season is well and truly upon us once again. We run a drop-in flu clinic at the surgery between 12:30pm - 2.30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays.
For the first time we will be running a weekend Flu clinic on Saturday 16th November 2019 from 9:00am - 12:00pm. Appointments must be booked in advance please. You can do this online via Patient Access or the NHS App if you've registered with either of these services. If you don't have online access, then just give us a call and we'll book you an appointment.
To be eligible for a free flu jab, you must be within one of the following at-risk groups:
- be 65 years old or over
- be pregnant
- are living in a long-stay residential care home or another long-stay care facility
- receive a carer's allowance, or you're the main Carer for an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if you fall ill
or have any of the following medical conditions
- chronic (long-term) respiratory diseases, such as asthma (that requires an inhaled or tablet steroid treatment, or has led to hospital Admission in the past), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema or bronchitis
- chronic heart disease, such as heart failure
- chronic kidney disease
- chronic liver disease, such as hepatitis
- chronic neurological conditions, such as Parkinson's disease, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), a learning disability or cerebral palsy
- diabetes
- problems with your spleen – for example, sickle cell disease or if you have had your spleen removed
- a weakened immune system as the result of conditions such as HIV and AIDS, or medicines such as steroid tablets or chemotherapy
- being seriously overweight (a BMI of 40 or above)
