When you attend for a test of any type you should be told how long you can expect to wait for the results. The vast majority of tests will be done at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital phlebotomy service after you have been given a blood test request form. Please note that we have no control over how long it takes the hospital clinics to process the results.
It is best to call us for test results in the early afternoon between 2pm and 4pm when the phones should be less busy. Please note that we can only give results out to the patient. You will be asked for information to confirm your identity to ensure patient confidentiality.

Specimens
If we request a specimen from you then they must be provided to us in a suitable container and clearly marked with your name, date of birth, date of the specimen and the reason for the specimen.
All specimens delivered to the practice must be delivered no later than 11am as there is no collection by the hospital courier after this time. Failure to provide your specimen on time may mean that the test will need to be repeated.
